Complaints about unsatisfactory water services have led Association of Water and Energy Research Malaysia (AWER) to conduct field investigations to outline the condition of water services in Kelantan. Feedbacks were obtained from Kuala Krai, Temangan, Kota Bharu, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Jeli, Bachok, and Tanah Merah in Kelantan.

AWER has compiled the findings, recommendations as well as solutions and published the report entitled, Survival: The Future of Our National Electricity Industry. This report will be submitted to Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA), Energy Commission, Economic Planning Unit, and all Members of Parliament.

National Water Services Industry Restructuring is an important step to ensure National Water Security. This study touches on the overall Water Services Industry Act 2006 (WSIA) and the implementation of Asset Light Model to achieve full cost recovery. AWER also has presented 3 case studies with suggestions to ensure Malaysia will be able to achieve Water Security.
